How to Get to Know Yourself: 5 Life-Changing Tips That Helped Me Find Who I Am

how to get to know yourself

I truly believe this is the answer to so many of the problems we face. Because how can we expect to build a life we love if we don’t even know who we are?

This blog is for everyone who feels like they don’t fully know themselves yet. Maybe you’re between the ages of 15 and 22, constantly questioning who you are, where you belong, or why you feel so different from everyone else.

I know how it feels..

Today, I want to share my own journey through those years, the three phases I went through, and the 5 biggest lessons that helped me become the person I am today.

And if you’ve ever asked yourself,

“Why don’t I fit in?”

then this blog is especially for you.

Because maybe you were never meant to fit in.

Maybe your biggest gift is that you’re different.

Why Getting to Know Yourself Changes Everything

Most people spend years trying to become someone else.

  • Trying to fit in.
  • Trying to be liked.
  • Trying to live according to everyone else’s expectations.
  •

But the happiest people I’ve met all have one thing in common:

  • They know who they are.

And once you truly know yourself, making decisions becomes easier.

Choosing friends becomes easier. Loving yourself becomes easier.

So where do you start?

Step 1: Get Your Journal Out

This is the first thing I want you to do.

Take a notebook and answer these questions honestly.

Writing, asking yourself questions,
and sitting in silence are where real self-discovery begins.

Step 2: Ask Yourself What You’re Really Afraid Of?

“What am I scared of?”

Why do you feel like you don’t know yourself?

Maybe…

♡⃕You don’t trust your own opinion.

♡⃕You let other people influence your decisions.

♡⃕You’re trying to live the life your parents want for you instead of the life you want.

♡⃕You’re scared people won’t accept the real you.

Step 3: Why Is Being Different So Hard?

Ask yourself:

“Why is being different so scary?”

Because honestly…

Do you really want to be exactly like everyone else?

  • To copy everyone.
  • To think like everyone.
  • To never have your own opinion.
  • To never discover what actually makes YOU happy

    ….I don’t think you do.

My Story: The Girl Who Never Fit In ♡⃕

I was once the insecure girl who had absolutely no idea who she was.

I always felt different.

I wore clothes people thought were weird. Now they’re trendy.

I wasn’t the straight-A student. ♡⃕

I never had what people called the “perfect body.”

But I grew into a confident woman who learned to love herself.

Even when people treated me badly, I never wanted to become like them.

♡⃕And for years, I wondered why I couldn’t just be like everyone else.

Now I finally know the answer. Because I wasn’t supposed to be.
And neither are you.
Being different is one of the greatest gifts you’ll ever receive.

WHAT YOU CAN DO NEXT:

♡⃕Create a “Who Am I?” Vision Board

One of my favourite exercises is creating a vision board that isn’t about your future… It’s about your present.

SO

Ask yourself:

What are my favourite hobbies?

♡⃕What’s my favourite food?

♡⃕Where do I feel most at home?

♡⃕What’s my favourite colour?

♡⃕What’s a quote that inspires me?

♡⃕Who are the people I love most?

♡⃕What career excites me?

♡⃕What memories make me smile?

This isn’t about becoming someone else.

It’s about remembering who you already are.

VISIONBOARD WHO I AM
