How to Turn a Bad Day Into a Better One (Simple Ways to Reset Your Mood)

how to turn a bad day into a good one

Your day already started like you just wanna stay in bed?

Yes girl, I get that BUT let’s make sure you make the best out of it!

In this blog, I will talk about how to turn a bad day into a better one and how to reset your mood when you’re feeling off. One where you still feel like, “okay, that was not too bad.”

And it is not about rushing anything or checking off all the things on your to-do list  it’s simply about you and what is good for you in those moments.

You did not sleep well, dropped your coffee, got a call you did not appreciate, your ex messaged you, or you’re simply just not feeling good in yourself, in your body…

What most people nowadays do:

they accept it, they start their day in a bad mood, maybe even pick fights or arguments, or even treat themselves badly… literally only because they are not at peace inside – they are not listening to their body or understanding why they feel this way.

And we all have those days, but you can change it… or adapt a little bit.

LET’S ADD SIMPLE WAYS TO MAKE YOUR DAY BETTER:

1. CALM DOWN YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM

Take 5 minutes and just sit there, close your eyes, breathe for a moment and let it sink in. Then start with affirmations: tell yourself “it will be alright,” “this will not ruin my whole plan or day,” “I will be okay,” “it’s not the worst thing in life, I can deal with it slowly.”

2. START SMALL & BE PRODUCTIVE AT YOUR OWN PACE

Get out of bed, go brush your teeth, get dressed, drink a glass of water. Make sure to eat something that gives you energy and makes you feel good in your body. Take it slow, do not rush through this process.

3. LOWER YOUR EXPECTATIONS TODAY

This is an important one. Do not put yourself under pressure — choose what is important today. You don’t need to be at 100%. Aim for “good enough.” Showing up and doing the basics is already a win on days like that.

4. TALK TO YOURSELF IN A LOVING WAY

Tell yourself, “instead of overwhelming myself, I will try to be more understanding with myself.” That also means treating yourself well – with your favorite snack, your favorite song. Surround yourself with people who give you energy, not the other way around.

5. HAVE SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO

Every bad day needs something to look forward to. Is it a movie night with yourself after work? Or going to your favorite restaurant, meeting up with your best friend, or simply being at home reading a book, doing a hobby that makes you feel good, going for a run to clear your mind? Whatever it is that makes you happy – plan it and be excited for it.

your mindset can change your bad day.

It’s part of life to not always have the energy for an amazing day, and especially for us women, it’s so normal to feel off sometimes.

We go through a lot – our hormones, our bodies are playing crazy haha  but it’s also good, because in those moments we need to push through in our own way, and that makes us stronger.

Every bad day is not the end – it’s just a day. And you can learn how to deal with a bad day in a healthier way.

we will get stronger with every bad day
Because your mindest is the key to everything – especially when you’re trying to turn a bad day into a better one.

How can you have a good day when you constantly tell yourself:

  • “I am not good enough,”
  • “I am not productive enough,”
  • “I need to do this, this, this”…

That kind of thinking will keep you stuck in a bad mood.

Instead, try to shift your mindset, even just a little. Talk to yourself in a way that helps you feel better, not worse.

A GOOD MINDSET WILL HELP YOU RESET YOUR MOOD AND BRING YOU BETTER DAYS!

MY OWN EXPERIENCE THE LAST FEW DAYS:

my own experience

And that sometimes turns into watching Netflix straight after I wake up…

But then, when I get to the point where I feel bored,

I get up, I listen to my favorite song, I sing,

I dance, I get dressed, and even if it’s already 2pm – I get out.

The first thing I will do is go sit in a café, or at home get breakfast, and try to journaleverything down – what is going through my head.

And that is just a small step to get out of bed,

but it’s a huge win!!
